Back up the truck . . .
You might remember that my son requested a “dump truck” themed birthday party . . . and I was stumped with what to do for it! But I pulled it off and took plenty of pictures so I could share my ideas with you. You know, in case you need ideas for when your three-year-old insists on a dump truck party. I’m lucky enough to work for an organization that has a really nice room that we can use, but you could adjust any of these ideas to work in your own home.
The invitation (a version of which is available in my shop):
I used patterned scrapbook papers under each of the place settings to give the tables a nice (and inexpensive) pop of color.
I LOVED the way this pennant bunting and banners turned out. I’ll be posting some in my shop in the near future. Interested in having these in your color scheme? Contact me!
We served barbecue pork sandwiches and other “barbecue-appropriate” foods. The biggest expense of the entire party? My sister brought in Garrett’s popcorn from Chicago. It was worth every penny!
I loaded it into spray painted dump trucks that I bought for just a few dollars at a discount store.
I made cute “enjoy some popcorn” stickers for the little cups on the tables so that guests would know that they were specifically for scooping popcorn. I’d be happy to help you customize stickers for your event!
The favors. I had LOTS of these and didn’t want to take the extras home, where I would surely devour them. So, I stuck extras in every unattended purse and diaper bag! Again, favor bags are also available (assembly required).

Do you have pictures of a birthday party, shower or other event that you threw? Whether it was big or small, I’d love to feature it on my blog. Let me know!
what do you think?
