Honest to blog . . .

‘Tis the season for giveaways! Over the next few weeks, I’m giving away cards on several sites and running ads in several places. I’ll do my best to remember to post them here. 🙂

As this season of giveaways begins, I want you to know that I’ve chosen very carefully this year based on the perceived level of honesty in advertising on the blogs doing giveaways.

Dozens of people over the last few weeks have asked me to provide services for them for free in exchange for a positive review on their site. Now, if I choose to offer the blogger/writer something for no charge at my own initiative, that’s one thing. Or if they post a disclaimer letting their readers knowing that they received the products for free . . . great. But one blogger wrote to me, “As long as I get my Christmas cards for free, I’ll say whatever you want me to say.” Yikes. I want to steer clear of that kind of shady practice.

Because of this, I do have fewer giveaways lined up this year and am open to more. If you have a decent amount of traffic on your blog and have done at least one giveaway before, I’d be happy to chat with you about doing one on your blog. You can contact me at lessordinarydesigns@gmail.com.
